Nadine Banks entered Chatham University as a full-time student in September 2005 after many years of working and studying on a part-time basis. She wanted to make a career change from office administration to marketing professional, and needed a degree to make that transition. In 2000, she started a non-profit organization, Vision of Hope: A Non-Profit Educational Resource Corporation to support elementary education for children in rural Haiti. Now a senior marketing major, Ms. Banks is the Student Representative of the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Chatham University. She has also served on the Executive Committee of Pennsylvania’s Women’s Economic Development Outreach (WEDO) tour. She has served on the Center’s team throughout her academic career at Chatham. Beginning this fall, Ms. Banks will coordinate Chatham’s new Entrepreneurship Club. Her senior tutorial will focus on entrepreneurship as a career choice. Ms. Banks is currently the Executive Director of the Wilkinsburg Chamber of Commerce. She represents the Chamber on the Main Street Program Steering Committee and the Wilkinsburg Newsletter Council. Ms. Banks will receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2008.
