J.J. Sheffer attended Kutztown University and presently attends Penn State York, pursuing a degree in Letters, Arts and Sciences with a Liberal Studies option. She plans to pursue a Master's Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management. As Director of Development and Community Relations at ACCESS, a York nonprofit agency, J.J. finds time to be a devoted mother and community volunteer. She has held leadership roles in the planning of Martin Library's Grand Opening Gala and has recently been elected as Vice President of the York Young Professionals. She is active in the Women's Giving Circle, York County Young Democrats PAC, York Arts and a board members of the Planned Parenthood of Central Pa. Advocates. J.J. received the 2003 Human Relations Award and the 2005 Community Service Award at Penn State. As a single mother J.J. said, "In my life, my duty of civic engagement is second only to my duty as a mother and I find increasingly that the two are intertwined and complement each other beautifully." |
