2004 Best 50 Women in Business Scholarship Recipient | |
Valerie is a leader in the Grove City College Marching Band, vice president of the Grove City College Accounting Society, a member of the Grove City College Women's Softball Team, and the intramural sports manager for the Women's Athletic Association. She maintains an active involvement in many quality organizations such as the Family First Leadership Institute and the Operation Top Management Business Society. She is also a student member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Valerie is also passionate about serving her community. Valerie has shared her talents and motivation as a peer tutor and softball clinic instructor while at Grove City College and is a leader in the campus service organization. She also volunteers as a buddy for the Special Olympics. During the busy holiday seasons, Valerie contributes to children's programs as a volunteer at the Erie Zoo. She is also an active volunteer for political campaigns, charity fundraisers and public broadcasting pledge drives. Her efforts have been so outstanding that she was recognized with the American Citizenship Award for Community Service in 2002.
